Part 1: Adding a VPN

Part 1 - Add a VPN

What is a VPN?

Using a VPN will ensure that your Internet service provider (ISP), app/addon developers, hackers, site operators, and other organizations can’t monitor and log what you are streaming or downloading.

A VPN will encrypt your connection to the Internet and create an anonymous connection through a masked IP address, which will hide your identity and activity. If your service is still blocking you after changing their security settings then the only thing that you can do is use a VPN. There are free VPN's.

We recommend using a VPN

Add the FREE ProtonVPN to your mobile device.

If you are a Firestick user go to the Appstore on your

Firestick and search for ProtonVPN.

After installing ProtonVPN on your FireStick you will need to add the code that appears on your FStick's ProtonVPN to activate it.

Proton VPN installation instructions are here!

We also recommended Surfshark and Windscribe as one account can be added to Unlimited Devices. Windscribe has a 'no sign up' free trial. The free trial can be slower at peak times. The full version is a much better option with more features. Surfshark have a 30 day money back gaurantee.

Change Your VPN Settings

Once you have downloaded and installed a VPN

you may need to change your

VPN Protocol settings to one of the following:

1: OpenVPN TCP
2: OpenVPN UDP
3: IKEv2

(Try each protocol to see if this fixes your issue)

Surfshark Instructions:
1: Go to the settings.
2: Click on VPN settings.
3: Select Protocol
4: Switch your protocol to one of the OpenVPN options or IKEV2.
5: Go back and select your chosen location.

OpenVPN is open-sourced, meaning that it’s been approved by security specialists worldwide. It’s a bit bulkier than WireGuard® and IKEv2, but it’s the only one that many routers natively support.

IKEv2 (short for Internet Key Exchange version 2) is a fast and secure protocol. It has been improved many times. IKEv2 is very popular among mobile users due to its speed and ability to switch networks on demand.
